Preparing compost is a yr.-round job
Were constantly adding our veggie skins/peels, wood ash, eggshells, manure, bone meal, etc
When it smolders, we smile - good stuff is cookin'!!
Then, we run,. Real fast. To grab the skiddy and churn it.
Dogs lay on it - it's warm.
Juniper Winter Salve Proof!
With single digits in my neck of the woods, the chapped cheeks are killing me!
I applied the Juniper salve to 1/2 of my face and went on with my day not thinking much about it. A few hours later, I double peeked in the mirror and to my surprise - WOW!!!
1 application, and a few hours were MAGIC!!!
The Juniper Winter Salve is BOMB!!!!
Indoor Seeds are beginning to say HI!!!
Playing in the dirt. I do NOT buy soil to start my seeds. You shouldn't either. Dig up some dirt from your previous years garden row, throw it in a bucket, mix in peat moss, and plant seeds.
Why? Because the previous years plant roots rhizobium have put a lot of healthy microbes in that dirt for you. It's fantastic!
Incubators are busy.....
With a ratio of 1:2, fertilized eggs around here are NOT short on hand. Our two 64-eg incubators will remain full for a few months. Chicks hatching weekly!!!
Goat Milk Soap is a HOT item...
Goat Milk is IN THE HOUSE!!!!
What does that mean?
-we drink it. lots of it.
- soap is being made
- lotion is being made
- our skin is healthy!!!
Pig Pen Day!!
The best farrow cage hack? An upside-down, 300-gallon tote cage. We hung a warming light inside, ready to flip on. Pig pen is clean, and a big pile of straw is ready to throw in.
